Hello Shipmates,
Thanks to all of you who were able to come to our Spring Social last Friday night. I was excited to see so many Supply Corps Officers meet for the 1st time and have an instant bond. CAPT Al Schmidt gave a moving narrative honoring MIA/POW with traditional honors. CAPT Greg Johnson also gave an overview of the Battle of Midway.
Our guest speaker, Ms. Antionette Stapley related her experiences of suddenly losing her husband during a deployment to Qatar in 2013. Antionette’s anxiety and frustrations led her to create her non-profit organization to help educate spouses of the benefits and opportunities available, in the event that the unexpected happens. To date, she has helped over 4,000 families.
