On September 25, 2025, a Military Ceremony was held at the Ivins VA Home to honor retired Supply Officer LCDR Francis Carson, a 97-year-old World War II veteran. LCDR Carson received a Quilt of Valor.Crystal Farinella, Utah Quilts of Valor State Coordinator and Sherwood Preece present LCDR Carson with a Quilt of ValorFrank is one of our WWII Veterans and is truly one of the Greatest Generation. As we were talking, I saw the enclosed picture in his den. Pretty Impressive huh? Not too many people have a personalized signed picture from Admiral Chester Nimitz.Admiral Nimitz Signing WW2 Surrender of JapanWithout the help and hard work of many of those in the local area there is no way this Quilt of Valorpresentation could have happened. Many worked tirelessly behind the scenes coordinating with the local Veterans home, arranging for lunch and setting up for this presentation.Special thanks go to Mr. Sherwood Preece who works tirelessly to support our Utah veterans ensuring the are recognized for their service and keeping Catherine Roberts’ dream alive.
